In the absence of many interesting topics (and the lack of people clicking the buttons), I've swapped out the polling section at the bottom of the news for a brief list of links for keeping up on your Halo things around the web. Pretty much self explanatory... and a tad more useful, too.

After a grueling brainstorm and frenzy of typing, I've gotten our FAQ back up and even up to date again. New questions will be added as they appear, and information will be kept up to date as it changes. Enjoy, and send in your questions if you have them (or if you think someone else might).

Having lost (okay, misplaced... grumble) my old list of questions, I'm going through our FAQ and revising it with the newest information available on Halo. Thus far, I have about half a dozen questions (and substantially fewer answers, but I'm working on it)...

Which is where you come in--if you have a question, answered or not, that you think should be on the FAQ, please email me or reply to the forum post below. The more questions, the better, and more useful the FAQ.

My bad, missed this the first time through... Marathon's Story has a note suggesting that Bungie wil be releasing an official Halo demonstration movie in the future (true to form, no date given). Stop by for the nitty gritty details, and keep your eyes open for more info on it.

Kudos to Bullseye, who spent quite a bit of time cleaning up and recompressing the Gamespot Halo movie in Quicktime 4, adding to it a cleaner soundtrack taken from the recently released Demo MP3. This larger, but much nicer version of the demo can currently be had on CPHL, and we'll have a mirror up as soon as I can wrestle the thing onto our FTP server.

A new site up, and one in the works: Matthew Vaughan has started up a Halo site boasting a very large number of captures from the Demo movie, and Noctavis has hinted at HaloNews.com making an appearance soon... whee, the scene is heating up!

game:

Yeah, I wish. Even a weekend at the lake can't drag my mind away from what is happening here at the site, what I still have to do, and what I might have to do soon... sigh.

But I am back, and many thanks to rhino for keeping an eye on things. Watch for a redesign over the next week or so... I'm going to try a simpler design for faster loading and higher content, and see how that works. Stay tuned!

Much kudos to Noctavis of Myther.com for sending in this:

One more before I'm gone. Gabriel, of the Penny Arcade, writes:

Hey, my name is mike. I draw a comic about games called Penny Arcade. Anyway our latest strip was about Halo so I thought you guys might get a kick out of it:)

Laugh if you will, but that sums up more than a few reactions...

Yes, I know the timing is awful, but I'll be out of it until Sunday evening, until which time Badlands webmaster rhino will be posting any critical news items or breaking stories. It's nasty HTML to work with, so he's going to stick to the major items, but I'll do a roundup on Sunday evening of all the weekends events.

That said, any important news items should be sent to him as well... have a good weekend all! And for once, hope for a slow one! ;)
