Kudos to rojay, who pointed out that Gamespot has begun posting articles on their five games that will change gaming forever, which appeared in the November issue of Computer Gaming World. The articles are the same, but not everyone has seen the magazine.
They're coming one a week, and the first is Freelancer... Halo is a week or two off yet, but forewarned is forearmed, eh?
A few interesting items at Marathon's Story, including some speculation regarding Bungie's attendance at MWSF 2000 and an Oni comic strip that is definitely worth checking out. Some people come up with the wierdest things...
I missed it the first time around, but Noct was quick to catch the slip and point out this interesting comment from Nathan in this forum post:
Redeemer points out an apparently spontaneous debate at Voodoo Extreme surrounding the point of view in Halo. A touchy subject, and a thread of responses has followed a letter from Bungie's Allen Turner defending Bungie's pro-third person stance. An interesting read, despite the high froth factor.
With little news to post, I sat down and hammered out a few coherent thoughts on the possibility of Halo coming to consoles and stuffed it into the Database.
It's a borderline rant, so take it with a grain of salt. And if you haven't yet, cast your vote in the poll, which is (entirely coincidentally) also console related this week.
Sorry about the lack of updates. It's just that there's not much to post, other than direct folks to interesting conversations in the forum. As always, news items and website announcements are welcome... I can't report it if I never hear it, after all.
Before you start panicking, halo.bungie.org and the rest of bungie.org is stuck in behind a bit of internet oddness, resulting in the downtime some people are experiencing. No cause for alarm, as all should be well by tomorrow. Just stop in every now and then to see if the outage has cleared up.
Kudos to CowMutilator, who pointed out that the new PC publication IncitePC has a Halo preview in its premier issue. halo.bungie.org is attempting to obtain permission to reproduce the article, and I wish them the best of luck, since it will likely be weeks before any new magazines show up around here. ;)
After the influx of new information from the Games Domain preview, I've gone and updated the FAQ once again, adding a few new questions and updating some old answers with newly available information. Seventy-three questions (and answers) and counting...
