  2. Interesting Halo 2 Tidbits At UGO

Wed, 06/25/2003 - 01:15 by narcogen

We won't summarize the whole Halo 2 Preview at UGO, pointed out over at HBO by Louis Wu, but we'll just mention a few of the more... ahh, interesting bits of... ahh... information. Some of these aren't new, some of them are, and some of them... well...

  • Man-made buildings will replace the alien architecture, and interior levels may even take us to well-known landmarks such as the White House or the Pentagon.
  • The game will not include multiplayer bots
  • At least 70% of the story will be communicated through in-game interactions with NPCs
  • The Brutes, much like the Flood in Halo, are hostile to both humans and Covenant
  • The Prophets control the other alien forces in combat, but are probably very weak on their own
  • Storming a base will alert every single enemy to your location
  • Some of these-- like weak Prophets and mercenary Brutes-- seem a bit odd, especially since in the E3 demo, Brutes emerge from Covenant vehicles, and earlier articles attributed unique attacks to Prophets. However, time will tell.
