Eurogamer had an article that hit their RSS feed that said, in part:
It's been known in industry circles for months, but the news is now finally starting to leak. You'll be able to buy the next generation Xbox in both America and Europe in 2005, say experts.
But as of this moment, the article appears to have been removed.

Don't hold your breath
Halo 2 took them three years. The Xbox 2, if rumors are to be believed, is only 8 months away, and Halo 2 was only released three months ago.
I realize a lot of fans hold out hope that what really happened was that Bungie cut off the ending of Halo 2 and is expanding it into an entire third game that will be ready soon... but there's little to support that unless the Halo 2 engine was being made for Xbox 2 all along-- unlikely given that it's an entirely different GPU and CPU.
