Back to the nooz! Caught tonight at HBO was a thread started by a reader who wanted to know what the minimum modem connection speed will be for Halo. Matt Soell of Bungie posted the following reply:

With the caveat that we haven't tested Halo netplay on anything but our internal LAN, so nothing I say about this can be absolutely certain:

I suspect 56K modems will be the way to go for those who are dialing in.

Those of you who are HPBs like me will be happy to read this, but keep those fingers crossed - as Matt said, nothing is completely certain yet. Hopefully PowerPlay will either make a significant impact upon multiplayer gaming within the next few years or will be rendered unnecessary by more prolific, faster alternatives. What were you doing online last night, Matt? ;-)
