Quite the storm of controversy raised by the screenshots unveiled yesterday by Gamecenter's Halo preview. Given the differences in these screenshots and older ones, many people were skeptical, believing them to be hoaxes. However, an unnamed source had this to say:

Everyone at HBO was smurfing high on gas fumes

Spurred on by this bold claim, we investigated and managed to obtain confirmation from Bungie's Jaime Griesemer regarding the authenticity of the screenshots:

[The screenshots] are authentic and direct from Bungie

Now then, let's get down to dissecting screenshots and put this hoax silliness behind us (as much fun as it might be). Note also that we mean no offense to halo.bungie.org... the quote was just funny at the time. ;)
