While it appears to many that Bungie's webservers and the bungie.net metaserver are still down, halo.bungie.org's Louis Wu shines a bit of light on the problem:

The nameservers that handles both of them, however, are hosed. :) (The boxes are up... but the nameservers are non-functional.)

This means that anyone who uses a nameserver that behaves properly, and doesn't cache pages longer than those nameservers tell them to, will NOT be able to reach either bungie.net or bungie.com... but those with impolite nameservers that cache stuff forever have no problem.

Aha, not something I would have thought of. Explains why some people are having no problem, and others no luck. The problem should resolve itself tomorrow morning (or be resolved by someone), so just keep an eye on bungie.net for the status.
