Maccentral is carrying a story with comments from Bungie's own Matt Soell, confirming that Oni will be delayed, but not as badly as has been speculated.

Right now we're on Beta 2, said Soell. The focus right now is on testing and tweaking the levels; this build will get us roughly halfway through that process. When all the levels have been tweaked we'll concentrate on engine bugs, optimization, basically banging out the last batch of dents in the sleek muscle machine that is Oni.

Soell went on to say that he doesn't think the delay will be as long as March 2001, as many have feared. Maccentral also cites an unknown representative for the Gathering of Developers, calling the January 10 date firm .
