Hot on the heels of Oni beta rumors, a second anonymous source shared a bit more information about the test with us:

We received our first CDs Tuesday the 29th. However, (at least the CD that I received) was not an actual beta CD. It is titled Oni Alpha 6 , and there is a note enclosed that the beta should be arriving within a week. Important note: the CD was Windows only.

Which helps explain the conflicting information given by Bungie over the last few days. The Oni beta isn't yet released, but the beta testing procedures have begun. The source goes on to point out that running Oni under VirtualPC on a Mac didn't work out (dang), though I suspect we'll see a proper hybrid CD with the first beta.
