Oh yeah, it works.
Thing is, r.netters aren't used to seeing comments attached to news items, and this comment won't appear in the forum, so it's likely it might not be noticed.
I'm considering either turning off the ability to comment directly on items, or trying to figure out a way to get these comments to start new forum threads instead of just listing them on the stories they are attached to (but also displaying there, of course.
