New version of XBoxGW 1.081

Sat, 12/15/2001 - 03:15

Here is from the changelog on the site:
http://www.xboxgw.com/rel/dist2.0/docs/changelog

Dist 2.0

* xboxgw v1.08-1

- Compacted "xboxgw" and "xboxgwd" into on command: "xboxgw"

- No longer need to enter Broadcast when setting up ethernet
interfaces on bootdisks

- Bootdisks should now work on machines pre Pentium III
(used to hang at 'freeing unused memory')

- Two "boot" disks now available. One for laptops which
includes PCMCIA and USB support, and another for desktops
which includes support for PCI/ISA ntwork cards and USB
network cards

- New User Interface to xboxgw. This is a major change
according to what it was before

- Added chat support, including actions and private messaging

- Added Encapsulation Type #2. This should reduce lag, and
allow more X Box's/Players to play then before. This change
basically saves 2000 bytes per second in each direction,
for each remote X-Box connection. If you are server and have
3 other X-Box's connected, this would save 6000 bytes per second
up stream as well as down stream

- Added a work around for something very tricky we have seen
in X-Box System Link traces. This would cause major lag, and
pretty much make the game compltely unplayable. With this
version of xboxgw, it will take care of this issue and the
lag is now gone
