Lucky. my parents won't even let me ( as of now anyway) play Halo on the computer. I did have halo 2 and an Xbox for a while but then my Mom found out that it was Halo 2 (and the main menu says Halo 2 all the time, wow) and took it away

I expect so. They wouldn't be mobile users-- the ip to cc library they're using probably doesn't have any information on mobile users.

They don't sell Xbox Live in Africa anywhere that I'm aware of, except perhaps the Emirates.

Ditto for Russia, I think, although I thought I read about an official launch there last year.

Piracy is always an issue in some of these regions.

I'll second the Emirates; right after the Beta introduced its BTB hopper I was matched with 7 students at the university there. It was kinda weird/nifty listening to Arabic conversation over the team channel. (And then the game broke up after intolerable lag. *shrug* Oh well, it was cool while it lasted.)

For the longest time there were player-dots showing up in South Africa, I think around Johannesburg and Pretoria. I don't remember seeing any in Mombasa, and believe me I was looking.
