Hack the web server that Microsoft makes, and win a Microsoft console-- that's the proposition of the HackIIS6.0 Challenge run by Roger Grimes. Check that site for details and read the HackIIS6.0 Challenge discussion at Slashdot. The catch? This time, they're going to install all the security patches.

As noted by one of the /. readers, that PC-based webserver is hiding behind a pretty beefy unix-based firewall... how much of the hacking challenge is IIS6, and how much is the Nokia Security Platform in front of it? When the US Army did this with Webstar back in the mid-90s, there was NO protective hardware between the webserver and the net. That's MUCH more of a test of the server's security than this is.
