Matt posted again in the same thread at Oni Central the next day (and yeah, that was four days ago, but all our newsies were drunk at the time).

Good stuff he said: They're at beta 12 now, and Oni's cutscenes will be integrated into gameplay, rather than simply inserted at the beginnings and ends of chapters . Bad stuff: You won't be able to save films, and none of Bungie's editing tools for Oni are likely to be released. Dust off your copy of ResEdit...

Without prompting of any kind it seems, other than a recent article by Peter Cohen at Maccentral, Matt Soell of Bungie Studios offered some clarification on the status of the Oni Beta. The article from last week cited a January launch date for Oni, as well as pegging the project's status at Beta 2. From his post at Oni Central late last week:

Maccentral is carrying a story with comments from Bungie's own Matt Soell, confirming that Oni will be delayed, but not as badly as has been speculated.
