  2. The Future of Bungie

Sat, 01/08/2000 - 02:23 by ferrex

CyberBob pointed out a Macworld article from The Mac Observer that details a few of Bungie's plans for the future. First, and most obviously interesting is Bungie's plan to dominate E3 with Halo, which is reportedly undergoing multiplayer development and is slated for a second half of 2000 release.

On the Oni front, single player is the development topic du jour, and that title is due out in out in the first half, perhaps around E3. Of course, Bungie never casts release dates in stone. At least, not publicly.

Of particular interest, though, is this little excerpt:

The last tidbit we were fed is that the team formerly known as the Myth 2 development team is hard at work on a new title. No details were given, but Mr. Zartman said the game would be unlike anything else on the market.

One wonders what they have cooking, and if the technology being developed in Halo and Oni will play a role in it. TMO goes on to offer their spin on the whole situation, including some thought provoking comments on Halo... certainly worth taking a look.
