  2. The Argument Against Microsoft

Tue, 06/20/2000 - 20:05 by noctavis

Not all is happy in the land of Microsoft, of course. There are a few articles out on the Net that discuss previous experiences with entering the Evil Empire. First, Robert Cringley of PBS Online posted up his own external description of Microsoft's acquisition of Hotmail.

Second, Mac Gamer's Ledge has been posting information about a former employee's description of the occurences that followed the acquisition of Access Software by Microsoft. Access developed the Tex Murphy series of video adventure games, which were somewhat new and revolutionary at the time and included actors like James Earl Jones. Access also created the Links series of digital golf games. MGL also posts the described experiences of Howard Shere of Green Dragon Software, who worked to port some of Access' games to the Mac. His own views are somewhat more moderate than the previous Access item.
