Kudos to Freewill for noticing a few questions that were asked and then apparently answered by Bungie at the German is this old news? New Halo info
The guys at Haloplayers report that PCGamer UK issue out today has some interesting information in it, but only a single new screenshot. A bit of a letdown, but with E3 mere days from now, we're certain to have plenty of screens and info to make up for it. Stay tuned...
Still enigmatic, but a step up from ???? , the mystery link at Bungie.org has changed to a slightly more suggestive ?B? , which still doesn't link to anything... yet. Should be interesting to see what they eventually come up with, since their sites already cover most of Bungie's games.
If you haven't yet, you need to go check out io.bungie.net, the new b.net website in beta testing. Max, aka Yeroen, posted an interesting item on yesterday's news:
Sorry for giving the quiet treatment. E3 is almost upon us and we're swamped with preparations. The office has become a carnage zone: bodies litter the floor, half-eaten pizzas fill the fridge (yummy yummy munchy munchy), and the conference room has a do not disturb the sleepers sign on it. I'll try to give you a major site update on Monday. Until then, keep testing!
Monday! We'll have to be watching closely. Also, if you're not totally sick of polls yet, stop by there and answer the question of whether you'll be attending E3 or not. It's interesting to note that Bungie lists the poll as being sponsored by nVidia and that a whopping 12% of the voters report they'll be there.
Yeah, yeah... don't complain too much. It'd be worse if Halo weren't in polls at all, right? It's just proof that some people out there recognize Halo's potential to take a serious bite out of the world's gaming community. Halo ownzed a good portion of last year's E3, and I fully expect for it to again. 'Nuff rantin'... let's get on with the polls!
The poll at 3dfx Gamers is nowhere to be seen, and the new list of options is consistent with the weird response I got a night or two ago. Maybe I was the very last vote? The poll at GameSpot is still a hairball, with Halo and WC3 tied at 28%. C'mon people... if you haven't voted then do so, and tell your friends too! Lastly, Gamestats is still showing Halo with a significant lead. Bet they're kickin' themselves for losing the Core, eh?
Seen at Marathon's Story is an interesting item. Hamish reports that a person close to Bungie, only known as "FreeSpirit", told him to keep a wary eye out on May 15th for new information. Today, an avid reader named Sarwat Khan connected the 15th with Apple's WWDC 2000. (Worldwide Developer Converence) Looking at the schedule, nothing on the 15th appears specifically related to Bungie, but we'll have to see what happens. ;-)
Joining the fray of sites trying to get into action with E3, Battleground: Halo has launched their own little E3 subsite with some ambitious goals. They'll be competing against numerous other sites, including ourselves, for Halo news. Stop by and check them out.
As if you needed another reason to go to E3. Oni Central has recieved word from Bungie's Matt Soell stating that Oni will be present at E3 in a playable form. Not surprising, as this would not be the first time, but encouraging news nonetheless. Should be interesting to see how it's progressed since MWSF...
A mysterious visitor in our forum, MoBill, dropped a note in our forum about an E3 Preview at Daily Radar. It includes the following information on Halo:
Halo -- Sure, it was the big game of last year's E3 (along with Oni, which is fast approaching whatever happened to? status), but we're still wowed by Bungie's technical demos of Halo. This year, the company is promising to show us some actual gameplay, along with another secret new game. The engine is definitely there -- will the gameplay live up to it? Cross your fingers.
I'll tell you that c can't wait to be there! We'll let you know as things develop.
