Randall "Bat" Schwebke has put up the second part of Wideload Games dot Org's interview with Aspyr's Glenda Adams. Aspyr is now working on the Mac and PC versions of the game, which was released last month on the Xbox. Of note: the game is shipping for the Mac on a single DVD, but the PC version is shipping on 3 CDs.
Joe Staten has written the third part of his Great Hollywood Journey article at Bungie.net; this one talks about the superb craftsmanship that he, Don Parsons, and Steve Schreck witnessed at WETA Workshops.
The next installment should include information about possible directors for the film.
The Associated Press' roundup of Halloween themed games mentioned Stubbs the Zombie's "rampant, demented humor" (sounds like there's a Bungie fan there--Ed.) but used the other r-word as well.
The News Tribune in Tacoma, WA has an article about the recent Video Games Live show that played in Seattle and Vancouver, after similar shows elsewhere around the country were delayed or cancelled.
The Halo part of the performance was well-received. The organizers are attempting to put together a string of dates in 2006, but since the collection of musicians used for each show is assembled ad hoc, it is difficult.

All Xbox 360 games that use Xbox Live for online play are going to share a single method for doing matchmaking: a system called TrueSkill and based on methods similar to those used for ranking chess players. IGN has an in-depth look at the TrueSkill system with its creators.
The syndicated column tech.life@play has a short feature on Halloween-themed games. Among them, they took a special shine to Stubbs the Zombie:
How can such a thing be funny? The game plays it for laughs - and succeeds - by displaying an impeccable sense of comic timing, off-the-wall comments uttered by Stubbs' victims, and the dutiful ministrations of a robot guide that wants only to give Stubbs a detailed tour of Punchbowl.

Super Street Online gives Stubbs 4.5 out of a possible five, calling it a "clever, fantastic looking action game. (And no, I didn't know automotive enthusiast websites reviewed video games, either--Ed.)
Yahoo Video Games gave Wideload's Stubbs the Zombie 3.5 stars out of 5 overall. They liked the concept and the humor, but thought the Halo engine "hasn't aged well" and felt the brain-eating mechanic was used too often.
The Weekly What's Update at Bungie.net is loosely packed with... stuff this week. Frankie says that Bungie's next project-- as yet still unnamed-- is generating tangible results:
The cool thing of course, is that we are very much in the world of HD flat panels alive with color and surprises. I can walk by a monitor now and see hard results. Animation. Lighting. Crazy new shader effects. Technical possibilities that boggle the mind. Occasionally, I will hear world-shaking noises coming from Marty's studio.
What is it? When will it come out? Still there's no date except "many, many moons from now" which is too vague even for GameStop.
In other stuff, there's another playlist update coming, as well as the Blow Me Away charity auction being done in conjunction with HBO.
Wired magazine has reviewed Wideload's Stubbs the Zombie; they liked the humor and the soundtrack, as well as finding the game fun to play:
It's quite like the world of Destroy All Humans, but this one is dirty enough to snag a Mature rating. (One scene sees Stubbs infiltrating the "Knobb Cheese Farm.") Running quips from public-address systems and the dying words of your hapless victims ("Now I'll never get into college!") keep the laughs coming at a constant clip.
The complaint of repetetiveness that has dogged Halo engine games since 2001 popped up yet again, the but review was otherwise positive.
UPDATE: The Marin Independent Journal also reviewed Stubbs as part of an article on Halloween games, giving the rebel without a pulse a rather cryptic rating of HHHHI.
