EastWind of MWA contacted MacSoft support inquiring about Myth III's status for the Mac and he received a response that said that its tentative release date is November 13 and it will cost $49.99. You can read the entire e-mail in MWA's forum.
Kudos to Ferrex for pointing out that GameSpot has posted 9 new Halo videos. HBO is saying that the videos show the entire first level and even a bit more than that.
The videos are available in MPEG format for download, but if you are on a slower connection, you will be able to stream all of them with Windows Media Player or Real Player.

ax also pointed us to this article on Inside Mac Games, which states that only the PC version of Myth III has gone gold as of yet:
As you probably know, the Mac and PC versions are being made [and] distributed by different companies, so there won't be a hybrid box like with past games in the series. Donges has explained to IMG that the Mac version is very close behind its PC counterpart, though, and should be heading towards GM in the next week or so.
So PC users will be able to play Myth III a short while before Mac users, but there should only be a period of two or three weeks between releases.

Nothing here that is a real shock-- we've known for awhile that online support wouldn't be for awhile. However, the answer for the first question, while it doesn't come right out and say no , doesn't seem to say yes . It seems to be trying to say that televisions, or at least High Definition televisions, are superior to monitors, which is... interesting, to say the least. Maybe it's my eyes...
According to this BBC article, Microsoft announced the European launch date of the Xbox on Tuesday at a gala unveiling in Cannes, France at the home of designer Pierre Cardin.
The console will debut at a cost of £299 ($433). In comparison, Sony just lowered the price of the PlayStation 2 to to £199 ($288).
Microsoft is keen to avoid the problems Sony suffered with PS2 availability last year:
Sandy Duncan, vice-president X-Box EMEA, said 1.5 million consoles would be available in Europe in the first three months.
The article also notes that with the global economic downturn coinciding with Microsoft's launch of both the Xbox and Windows XP, the next four weeks are crucial to the long-term future of Microsoft. Indeed.
Any old school Myth player remembers the Gates of Covenant. Among the early fansites dedicated to Myth, GoC was always quick to deliver news and quality content. Unfortunately, it went inactive a few years ago and completely disappeared shortly afterwards. We have Some Loser to thanks for its return, which presents the Gates of Covenant in its fullest. Head over and you'll find news dating back to early 1998, an order database, a hexing guide (we haven't always had editors, you know), and much more.
It's extremely nostalgic to see the Gates of Covenant return. It was one of the top sites during its time, but it was short-lived. This was first reported by MythVillage.
Louis Wu over at HBO pointed out an item over in their forum-- apprently Uriel spotted a mention of Halo and the Xbox over in the column by Dom, one of the MegaTokyo artists, in today's strip.
Dom calls the little aliens in Halo the most fun bastards to shoot (we assume he means grunts). But more telling is his experience with the Xbox controller:
There has seriously been a collective brain fart by the Xbox guys with this monstrosity. The testers for the controller must've been Manute Bol and a rhesus monkey with elephantiasis. There's no other explanation for something this bad.
I'm guessing that means he doesn't like it.
Kudos to Harry, who today became the 50th registered user of the New Rampancy system since we opened late last week, in a rather unplanned and disorganized way due to an unexpected hardware failure.
The original plan, of course, had been to beta test the new site for a few weeks before foisting it on the world, but hard drive platters heed the best-laid plans of neither man nor beast. Or something like that.
Recent comments
