Moridin spotted a new poll at GameSpot asking what games are you most looking forward to seeing at E3? The poll has just begun and Myth III is already getting owned. You know what to do.
Andrew Meggs stopped by our Futuremyth forum to reassure fans that Myth III's graphics will scale sufficiently to be playable on low-end machines and stunning on high-end ones.. An excerpt:
At one extreme, you've got the guy on a K6-300 with a Rage Pro. He gets 100-poly characters and single-pass single-texturing. At the other extreme, we can throw 50000+ polygons at you with as many as eight multitextured rendering passes applied to them and make your poor, pathetic GeForce 3 whimper and beg. :)

Legends and Lore has been updated.
Yes, you heard right. Having so much time off lately, Forrest has gotten off his lazy a$$ for the second time this month and started updating Legends and Lore again. This time he's started on a project that was long overdue: the Field Guides, Myth@B.org's definitive collection of easter eggs and other interesting sights and sounds in the Myth series.
Taking off where his predecessors finished at the end of TFL, he's gotten the first four or five levels of Myth II done overnight, and will continue to work on them tomorrow, and the day afterwards, and the day before that, and two weeks into the month before the year after that, and so on in that fashion until he's either done or he gets a new job, whichever comes first. So check it out!

Blam Gaming has returned with a new look, so head over and bookmark it.
During a quick look over at Bungie.Org, we noticed a new addition: the Marathon: Resurrection project. It's now hosted at b.org, and recently launched its Fan Art section. Marathon: Resurrection is one of several ongoing projects involving Bungie's highly successful trilogy of games. M:R specifically is bringing the look and feel of Marathon to the Unreal Tournament engine.
Bungie.org reports that the where&when of the fifth Bungie Fanfest have been established:
Wednesday May 16, 7:00 PM
Carousel Ballroom
DoubleTree Guest Suites Hotel
1707 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA
Admission $7.00
Additional information should be available on the Bungie Sightings page within the next few days.
Update: And here it all is, at bs.bungie.org/fanfestv/. The ever-industrious Freewill is meanwhile plugging along at organising Fanfest VI, hopefully occurring at the next MWNY. A preliminary signup form for that Fest will be up at BS shortly.
With no silly things like true love to get in the way this week, the Halo Update came softly to halo.bungie.org like a gentle spring shower--then revealed itself as a brutal hailstorm of massive kitten-squashing info chunks. Among the highlights:
- We have a Cortana model.- If you're a traitorous turncoat who picks off a Marine when no one's looking, when the other Marines discover the body they'll go looking for the slain Marine's killer without knowing that it's you. Of course, if someone were to SEE you doing this, the Marines' reaction would change appropriately.
- The first mission is getting a little bigger, with massive underground areas and major outdoor encounters set in what we would call disaster areas on Earth.
Head over to HBO and read the full update right now; Louis Wu squandered his life savings in order to post the update as soon as possible and we want to encourage that sort of behavior.
Joe Staten and John Howard speak ...and life does go on...
Kudos (:::sob:::) go to Pfhor for posting about a new Xbox interview with Joe Staten and John Howard of Bungie at Xbox.IGN. Here's an early item that goes straight to the heart of the multiplayer issue:
IGN Xbox: First of all, we have to ask: What's going on with Halo's multi-player aspects? Originally, they were a big part of the plan, but with delays in Xbox broadband support, it sounds like this is going to have to take a backseat...what's the deal? Are ya going to include split-screen support at all, or are you now going to focus on single-player?John Howard: Bungie has always been about kick-ass multiplayer, and Halo isn't any exception. As of now, we're definitely supporting 4-player split-screen with multiple game-types. We've been playing 2-on-2 CTF for a few weeks now, and I'm pleased to announce that HaloТs unique take on this well-worn game-type is very, very fun. And the addition of real-time taunt and abuse technology (aka reaching across the couch and smacking your opponent upside the melon ) is a nice change of pace from sitting alone at your computer.
So... no confirmation of LAN or Internet play just yet. The rest of the article is certain to be of interest to Halofen, and not necessarily just those of us who're planning on getting an Xbox.
... and my ties are severed clean ...
