This is a transcription of the Halo Main Theme, sung by the monks at the loading screen.
This melody is incorporated into many other Halo themes in the games and is a simple tune for young players and beginners learning to read music.

Transcription of "This is the Hour", by Marty O'Donnell, transcribed by Mike Poe.
This song can be heard during the cut-scene between "The Storm" and "Flood Gate" in halo 3
However this song is mostly known by the title "Finish the Fight" from Halo 3's E3-06 trailer
... well, not really THAT personal. However, Ducain at HIH did go into an awful lot of detail in his questioning of yours truly and Louis Wu at HBO, and the resulting fountain of verbiage is now duly formatted and posted for the benefit of those wit intestinal fortitude to spare and time to waste.
HBO today points to an interesting blog entry by an English teacher in Korea, playing Halo 3 (apparently for the first time or nearly so) in Korean without English subtitles, and so without much insight into the story or what the player is supposed to do:
Bungie spinoff A Certain Affinity, last known for the last Halo 2 downloadable maps (Blastacular pack) that recreated the Halo 1 favorite Hang'em High, has announced a new title coming this summer for Xbox Live Arcade at PlayStation Network, according to EGM (via ShackNews).
Certain Affinity hasn't made an official announcement yet, but their news page does confirm that this isn't an early April Fool's joke (unlike Lego Halo).
Looks like the dread intrusion of 'real life' may have finally claimed Stuntmutt, the author of One One Se7en, which after nearly five years and 777 strips, is being put into c0ld storage.
Say it isn't so, Stunt!
WorthPlaying has a quick preview of Wideload's upcoming Hail to the Chimp party game, and despite a couple flubs ("GNN" instead of "GRR" for instance) they did like the game. Story includes a half-dozen screenshots as well.
Michael Mann's latest Hail to the Chimp blog entry answers fan mail and talks a bit about the game's multiplayer features. Try to keep your missives clean, though!
Twelve years in the making, the full version of Eternal, a 'near full conversion' for the open source version of the Marathon 2 engine, Aleph One, has been released:
Picking up from the end of the Marathon trilogy, you find yourself suddenly ninety-four years in the future, in the year 2905. You are on the S'pht moon K'lia, hanging in orbit over a desolate and ruined Earth.
