Quick! Head over to E3.GODGames.com and click the Myth III E3 preview. There are three new pictures for you to drool at and it briefs their E3 plan:
Mumbo Jumbo will make its first-ever E3 appearance this year and show video, scripted events, and a marketing presentation for Myth III.
E3 begins in two days and I can't wait!
After two and half years, the Myth Townhall has shut down and its previous operators have launched the Myth Village.
May 15, 2001 - Myth Village is proud to announce it's grand opening. Myth Village is a new site dedicated to the Myth series of games by Bungie / Mumbo Jumbo. This premier comes just one day before the before the start of E3. We intend to cover it completely and have an article dedicated to the show. Myth Village also has a complete collection of released images from MythIII and a writeup of the development team.
With the new sites comes new forums, a new links section, and an expanded updates page, with the addition of a list of map standards from variousorders.
With the launch of Myth Village comes the absence of Myth Townhall. Started back in December of 1998 it covered the world of Myth well in the past two and half years. It is now closing it's doors to make room for Myth Village.
The Myth Village is located at www.mythvillage.org and already has a bunch of great resources put together. This is definitely a promising site that demands your bookmark.
Kudos to Kalis for letting us know that Halo Players got this week's update:
- You can hurt people by slamming vehicles into them. Now you no longer need a friendly Marine manning the chain gun to make the Warthog a dangerous weapon.- Rob beautified many things, and Shiek piled in a slew of new effects, including a lovely plasma grenade effect.
- There was a LOT of multiplayer testing this week. And it was a LOT of fun.

Anony tipped us off just awhile ago of what may be a coup for MythWolfAge.com-- what might possibly be the first in-game screenshot of Myth 3, currently under development by Mumbo Jumbo.
The MythWolfAge.com staff woke up to a pleasant surprise this morning. Arriving via anonymous email was this screenshot, which appears to have been taken within the Myth III engine. While we cannot be certain, given that it arrived with no fingerprints, the contents certainly make it appear legitimate.MacSoft recently revealed that it will publish Myth 3 for the Macintosh platform. Check out the full story at MythWolfAge.com.
Check out the just-completed Myth II Field Guides, which detail all of the cool information and easter eggs for each level. While you're there, be sure to take a peek at the Myth: TFL field guides and keep an eye out for the Chimera field guides, which are currently under construction.
The grand-daddy of 'em all, the Myth World Cup, will grace us with a 2001 season. Here's the juice:
It's that time of year again! Dust off your swords, shields, and keyboards, 'cause the Myth World Cup is back for 2001. The MWC is traditionally the largest and most intense Myth tournament of the year, and we've been working since late December to make this one the most fun yet.Registration will open Friday, May 11th at 12:00 PM EST and conclude once we reach our target of either 64 or 96 teams (depending on how interested the community is). Once we see how fast registration is filling up, we'll announce a starting date for the actual games - probably the third or fourth week in May.
So point your browsers at http://www.mythwolfage.com/mwc/ and start snooping around to see what we've got prepared for you! Good luck, and here's hoping everyone has a great season!
MWC is one of the most respected Myth tournaments around and goes all the way back to TFL. Don't miss out on this baby if you're a true Myther.
Andrew Meggs has posted a message at MWA saying that the recent MacSoft announcement rules out a hybrid disc for Myth III. He also informs us of a new editing tool that was developed for Myth III:
Editing Myth 3 will involve a new thing we call Vengeance, which is in no way a reference to any dealings any Myth 3 team members may have had with a former Chicago-based company. Vengeance is built with a modified version of a cross-platform library called YAAF (see www.yaaf.org), which allows us to sit in CodeWarrior and with a single click generate functionally equivalent versions for both Mac and Windows from the same source code.
Meggs also notes which machine they'll use to demo Myth III at E3 next week: 1.2 GHz Athlon with a 266 MHz frontside bus on a Gigabyte motherboard loaded with 256 MB of CAS 2 PC2100 DDR memory, a SoundBlaster Live! Value, and a GeForce 3. Mac users don't fret, as he didn't omit the fact that the Mac version of Myth 3 looks identical in every way except for the case of the computer that's running it.
Kudos to VJ for finding the announcement that Macintosh legends MacSoft will publish Myth III for the Mac. Along with this annoucenement, MacSoft has other plans:
PLYMOUTH, MN, May 9, 2001 -- Infogrames, Inc., (Nasdaq: IFGM) a global publisher of interactive entertainment software, today announced that it has acquired the Macintosh publishing rights to several high-profile titles from Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.
