Kudos to S'phtman, who pointed out a rather interesting feature at Daily Radar: a list of XBox launch titles. Surprisingly, in a cynical way, Halo has not only made but topped that short list:
The current center green light in the Xbox universe is Bungie's ambitious and highly anticipated shooter. When we last spoke to Jason Jones, head cheese at Bungie, he assured us that the game will not only be a brilliant multiplayer experience but will have an incredibly involving and interesting single-player story. It's the flagship title for the Xbox right now, and Microsoft is betting that it is going to be huge. We hope they're right.
While they're careful to note that release dates may slip and that nothing is carved in stone yet, it's interesting to see Halo called a flagship title. Perhaps good things do come to those who wait for them.
At long last, a look at the console. Or at least, a look at a superbly done hoax. Kudos to PorkBringer, who posted links to these images on the forum:
Assuming I labelled those right. The general consensus is that this is the real deal, and while the console appears to be passing reader scrutiny, the controllers seem to fall short. Can't please 'em all...
Steve Campbell stated on the IslandFour.org forum that a new message is up at Cortana.org. Still no headers or other proof of authenticity, but worth discussion nonetheless...
Clan Plaid's Acrappa has launched Oni Res, a fansite that currently contains all sorts of demo information as well as scripts and utilities to use in conjunction with the game. Keep an eye on this site--it promises to be a very useful resource for the Oni community.
Update: And scant moments after its creation, this poor helpless site was ruthlessly assimilated by the Collective. It's now hosted here by Oni Central, so change your bookmarks. (And go visit it again...it's acquired a pile of new info since we originally reported on it.)

We at rampancy.net wish you all the best holiday ever... Please remember those of us who are less fortunate this holiday season, both in your prayers and in your actions. The above image was supplied by Bravehamster =PN= last year, as an electronic Christmas card to the community. =)
Well NORAD (The North American Aerospace Defense Command) reports that Santa is already half-way through his infamous, annual flight 'round the world. His current position is somewhere over Southern Europe, so if you have children and live in America it might not hurt to start thinking about when they should get to bed... we don't want St. Nick passing anyone up!
I swear, you look away from the Bungie Sightings page for three freakin' days...*ahem*
The fourth Bungie Fanfest is now officially scheduled for January 12, 2001, at the West Bay Conference Center in San Francisco. The BS page has huge steaming mounds of info on the event--admission price, times, directions, contests, celebrity attendees--so head over there and eddicate yerself.
(What did Yankee Doodle do when he put a feather in his cap?) Yeah... horrible pun, but someone had to do it. I'm sure you'll forgive me when you learn that the Macintosh version of the Oni demo is now available!
@ Mac Gamer's Ledge (75 meg .sit file)@ FilePlanet (Also about 75 megs)
Mad.Max of i4.org was the first to inform us, and Protector of BGH also let me know that they've got it mirrored up at FilePlanet. Merry Christmas to ye Apple heads... and don't forget to thank Bungie! ;-)

When a reality is born of a god's dream, the fabric that binds it slowly densifies from a malleable state. In the world of Acknahara, reality is in such an early stage. The supernatural realm that envelops it bleeds in through every crack and sliver it finds. Those whose souls grow old and live in the transcending path become masters of the energy that gives life to their surrounding.
These are the sorcerers of Acknahara, and their most direct and immediate resource to this energy comes from unlocking the life-force compressed in the seeds of powerful plants. Acknahara exists as many islands lost in what seems an infinite ocean. The story begins on the island of Entarguyec, a once peaceful place that has now given home to a detrimental disturbance...
Just in time for Christmas comes the darkest Myth TC ever! From the mind of MPM comes Dreamseedz, a brand new total conversion by They Might Be Mapmakers. Dreamseedz features 7 all new units, and 5+ new scenery pieces, along with several retextured models. Dreamseedz is one of the darkest Myth conversions to date, featuring disturbingly dark art by MPM, frightening scenery that you have to see to believe, and units with seemingly natural armor that curves over their forms. The two-level Dreamseedz solo takes place across the scarred lands of Acknahara in exiting missions that involve original objectives such as finding keys and destroying plants to fuel magic. Dreamseedz also features unique physics that allow body parts and other projectiles to float and bob on the surface of the water. Units range from crossbowmen to the six-legged reptilian smagort creature. Check out the TMBM webpage and the Dreamseedz site, and download Dreamseedz now at The Mill to join the fight against evil!
