Well, it appears that shipping separate CDs for Mac and PC games is SOP (standard operating procedure) for GOD (the Gathering of Developers). This is unlike Myth and Myth 2, Bungie's last two releases, which both shipped as hybrid CDs.
Oni Central has posted that the SKU for a hybrid Oni release has been removed from the systems of online retailer Amazon.com and been replaced by two separate SKUs for PC and Mac versions.
In a post in our own Rampancy.net forum, Bungie's Matt Soell has responded to some of the complaints about Oni not having the ability to save game films. Most previous Bungie games, including all the games in the Marathon and Myth series so far have had this. From the post :
As of October 8, 2000, Halo Central has shut down its operations, the last in a string of site closings and consolidations that will no doubt continue in the long lull before Halo is finally released.

Good stuff he said: They're at beta 12 now, and Oni's cutscenes will be integrated into gameplay, rather than simply inserted at the beginnings and ends of chapters . Bad stuff: You won't be able to save films, and none of Bungie's editing tools for Oni are likely to be released. Dust off your copy of ResEdit...
Without prompting of any kind it seems, other than a recent article by Peter Cohen at Maccentral, Matt Soell of Bungie Studios offered some clarification on the status of the Oni Beta. The article from last week cited a January launch date for Oni, as well as pegging the project's status at Beta 2. From his post at Oni Central late last week:

He talks a lot about why the X-Box looks so good as a development platform for him and others. Recent stirrings at libram.com have stirred up rumors of the return of this venerable Myth map site, leaving many to wonder if long standing calls for it's return had been answered. Looking for a bit more information, Noctavis recently cornered Lord Chromag on RHL, and through the judicious application of force, managed to get it.
Maccentral is carrying a story with comments from Bungie's own Matt Soell, confirming that Oni will be delayed, but not as badly as has been speculated.
