E3 Oni Demonstration
With all the well deserved furor over Halo here at E3, Oni seems to have been forgotten. However, it is indeed on display, and as such I've put together a report on it as well. To sum up the display:

Hi ho! I'm connecting from an expensive, timed connection so I can't say too much. However, if you're in the area and want to come out to meet a few other people from the online Bungie fan community you ought to read this post.
One more thing I'd like to post, for any Bungie fan who is at or planning to be at E3 today or tonight. Some of us would like to get together for a Gathering of Fans if we could. I've marked out about a half-dozen restaurants that aren't TOO far away from the LA Convention center (I didn't find any cybercafes, damnit) which could possibly be good places to hang at. Chances look pretty good that we could rope a few Bungiefen into hanging out with us there.
Sorry we're not being as posty with the news guys. We're running our butts off and trying to report whatever we see to you all. You may actually see more material in the articles and forums for the time being. Anyway... I've got a few more things for you, posted in the forum to allow some discussion. I may clean things up a bit more later on for articles or something. Major thanks go out to Kelstek, Hiro and Mark Levin for their help with the chat last night on RHL, and everyone had some great questions for us.
I'm proud to announce that RHL, the Rampancy.Net hotline server, is online and open to the Bungie fan community. Just in time for E3! For those of you who don't know, Hotline is a server/client communication arrangement that acts much like IRC or the old-time BBS chats in some respects, but also has file support and some other nice features. The client software can be obtained for free at Big Red H.
Bungie has really pulled all the stops out for their booth here at E3. The Halo that they are showing in a large, cloth enclosed theatre is quite possibly one of the most popular attractions, with a line of seated people circling the booth, waiting to see it. Even the sound is impressive, with that deep Halo theme music rumbling out of the booth.
Kudos to mad.max, who posted a small scan taken from the recent PCGamer UK Halo preview. While it's not terribly informative, it is a neat shot, and a great photo of Bungie's Doug Zartman to boot. I do wonder what weapon the marine is firing one handed in the background, though...
Reported first by HBO, Jamie Bartels also sent me a copy of a response he received when trading some E-mail with Peter Marks of Bungie.
Just in time for E3, Bungie has moved their in-testing io.bungie.net into the spotlight at www.bungie.net. The new site, which features channels supplied by sites in the community, is easily customized to individual tastes, and depending on the channels you choose, packed to the gills with useful content. It's very easy to create a channel set that lets you keep tabs on the headlines all over the place, or just the sites that interest you in particular.
