GameSpy Publishes Second Reader Feedback Follow-Up

GameSpy has again taken reader questions and fed them back to Bungie to try and get more information. Here's a summary of what gets clarified this time around:

The ATV (human ghost equivalent) is not in the game.
Brutes do not carry flamethrowers.
Halo 2 will not have bots.

We've used this to clarify a few pages on our Halo 2 FAQ, namely those on boarding and bots.

Halo Server Extensions Announced

HSE, or Halo Server Extensions, has been announced for "almost public release". It is a framework that supports modules to extend the functionality of Halo servers. Modules currently include an Init file builder, a game type editor, a map voting feature, statistics and more. Thanks Halo Mods for the heads-up.

Supposed Xbox Next Photos Appear At Engadget

Geek toy site Engadget has put up a pair of photos that purport to be designs for the successor to Microsoft's Xbox gaming console. GameSpot is reporting that these are most likely fakes, but on the off chance one is a real design under consideration, you could go take a look.

Mac Halo Keeps Up

MacSoft has put out a patch to Halo on the Mac to keep pace with the recent update to the PC version. This one supposedly addresses issues with GeForce 6800 cards and patches to "exploitable code". Thanks Nick at Halo Mac Development for the story and HBO for hosting a list of mirrors of the patch.

Updates, Updates Everywhere

Frankie's update this week is at Halo Babies, where, like Andre the Giant in Princess Bride, Mister Chief is dreaming of large women. Except, in his case, it's a nightmare. In addition, Bungie.net has a roundup of all the Halo 2 previews that are going up all over the web. Some we mentioned before, some are new to us. As soon as we can collate the information, we'll add any new bits to our Halo 2 FAQ as we did with the first batch.

Bungie promises that they'll be posting all the new screenshots as well as giving their own insider's view of the beta next week.
