Ninjas Are Once Again On Fire
Nof's site, Halo 2: Ninjas On Fire, seems to have reopened for business back in February, unbeknownst to us. Not much new since then, but the new design is nice.

For users' convenience, we've created a zip archive of all 12 pages of the Enough Dead Heroes transcription by Spencer "Poop Scoop" Anunsen.
...or, too many secrets.
There's a bit of buzz being produced right now over Digital Extremes' recently-announced FPS, Pariah. If you thought Bungie could be secretive, apparently this game has been in development for over two years. Ever wonder what the team that used to be working on Phoenix is doing now?
DE's founder Jason Schmalz has been interviewed about Pariah over at Voodoo Extreme; it seems that at least some developers besides Bungie agree with R.net readers on the importance of storylines in games:
VE3D - Is Pariah more of a single or multiplayer oriented game?James Schmalz - It's highly single player focused. We want to get back to our roots and deliver a killer single player experience with amazing visuals, amazing AI, great story and great in-depth combat. We have learned a lot in the last decade since I first started Unreal, so we are putting all that knowledge and experience into basically redoing what I set out to accomplish with Unreal except brought into the year 2004.
So, just as Halo was a modernization of Marathon, perhaps Pariah will be a modernization of Unreal. I hope the Nali get more lines of dialogue this time around.
Pariah is being developed for the Xbox and PC.
One of the Halo Bible contributors, Brannen Boren, has just accepted a full-time gig writing for Monolith Productions, developers of The Matrix Online, according to Boren's blog.
Rapture over at COERCE is asking for input on what game types players would like to see on the HBO-COERCE Halo PC Dedicated server.
To follow up on the transcription of Enough Dead Heroes from yesterday, today a guitar tab for Halo's opening theme, dome by XbShadow, went up at HBO.
Fonix, the company that developed the VoiceIn command technology currently available in the Xbox Developers' Kit, has produced a version for the PC and PlayStation 2. Keep in mind, this is not the voice communication used on Xbox Live, this is the voice interface used in games like Rainbow Six 3. Thanks XboxSolution.
Spencer "Poop Scoop" Anunsen spent some time awhile back transcribing Enough Dead Heroes from the Halo Soundtrack by Marty O'Donnell into sheet music for a string quartet. We've made the transcription available, in 12 one-page PDF files, in our new Sheet Music section. Also, this is the only version of this sheet music that we have-- please don't ask Poop Scoop for other pieces or other arrangements. However, if you've done some transcriptions of Halo music, either for other instruments or other pieces, please feel free to send it to us.The PDF files are stored in our integrated download system, so you'll need to login to your user account (or register for one if you haven't already) in order to download them.
With 21 teams registered so far, there are 11 spots still available for CPL's Halo PC tournament this summer (the one with the $50,000 prize purse). Thanks cookedgamers.
Steve Ballmer, never one to pass up the chance to shoot his mouth off, apparently spilled the beans on Halo 3 all the way back last fall at the Microsoft Office 2003 launch. It went unnoticed until Richard Watkins found it and told Louis Wu at HBO. Of course, that doesn't necessarily means he knows it for sure; the statement might have been made predicated on the idea that MS would never let a good title go unfranchised:
We're working on the next version -- I hate to tell you this confidentially but I'll have to swear you to secrecy now -- we're working on the next version of Xbox right now and we're working on Halo 2 and Halo 3, the two newest versions of the game.
Incidentally, we wonder how useful it is to swear anyone to secrecy, and then place your statement in a document posted on the web. Perhaps Ballmer doesn't quite get this 'Internet' thing yet.
